Catarina Frade

Catarina Serra took her first degree at the University of Coimbra, where she was also awarded her Master and Doctoral degrees in Commercial Law. She took her "Agregação" (roughly equivalent to the French "Aggrégation") in Private Law at the University of Minho. In 2017 she was tenured as Associate Professor of Commercial Law. She is currently Justice of the Supreme Court.

Fátima Reis Silva - Licenciada em direito pela Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa e pós-graduada em direito comercial pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Juíza Desembargadora no Tribunal da Relação de Lisboa. Adjunta do gabinete da Ministra da Justiça do XXI Governo Constitucional.

Luciano Panzani – Judge Panzani, former President of the First Instance Court of Torino, and former judge of the First Chamber of the Supreme Court of Cassazione, is now President of the Court of appeal of Rome. He is presently member of the new Committee appointed in February 2015  from the Italian Ministry of Justice to update the Italian Insolvency Law.
Judge Panzani is contributor of many law Italian reviews and author of many publications in insolvency and company law. He has been teacher in the Universities of Torino, Rome and Siena and also in Nicaragua, Russia, Romania and U.S.A. ( Arizona). He is frequently called as speaker in meetings on insolvency law problems in Italy and abroad.

Niccòlo Abriani

Paul Omar - Has worked in mainstream British academia for 20 years, principally at Sussex University and also in Wales and the East Midlands. He has also had visiting appointments at the University of Pretoria, University College London and the Jersey Institute of Law, St. Helier. He has published over 230 books, edited collections, chapters and articles. Paul has served as Secretary of the INSOL Europe Academic Forum and as a member of the Steering Committee of the INSOL International Academic Group, the INSOL Europe Joint Academic-Practitioner Project on Cooperation and Communications, the Academic Advisory Group on the INSOL International Diploma Project, and the Course Committee of the INSOL International Global Insolvency Practice Course. Paul is at present a Consultant to the International Financial Corporation, a division of the World Bank, working on a number of projects in Asia. He is also a member of the European Commission’s Experts Group on Restructuring and Insolvency and serves as Technical Research Coordinator for INSOL Europe.

Paulo Valério – Licenciado em Direito pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Coimbra (FDUC). Advogado e sócio na “Valério, Figueiredo & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, SPRL”, desde 2017. Advogado na “Raposo, Subtil e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, RL”, entre 2010 e 2016, onde integrou a Comissão Executiva da Sociedade e coordenou o Departamento de Insolvência e Recuperação de Empresas.
Membro da INSOL Internacional. Membro fundador da Associação Portuguesa de Insolvência e Recuperação (APDIR). Vogal (suplente) do Conselho Superior da Magistratura
Membro do Núcleo de Desenvolvimento de Competências na Comissão para o Acompanhamento dos Auxiliares de Justiça (CAAJ). Entre 2005 e 2009 desempenhou as funções de Adjunto do Governador Civil de Coimbra
